About

Shree Mandhata Samaj is a community organisation based in the Foleshill area of Coventry. Established in 1978, the organisation has successfully developed and run a community centre for the residents of Coventry during this time. The organisation has a strong track record running open and inclusive community events. Fund raising events are held in order to generate money to maintain and improve the community site and deliver a programme of activities. The organisation has also supported the development of a school site in Western Gujarat, India.

The organisation undertakes various social and cultural activities throughout the year however we do not open the centre on a daily basis. Events, such as Yoga for the elderly, organised by the centre, are publicised by means of distributing leaflets to member’s houses. Many of these events take place on Saturdays and Sundays.

The 3 major events that attract the largest numbers are i) India’s Independence Day ii) Navratri and iii) Diwali.

The organisation has 500 members from across the city and many are involved on a voluntary basis in the running of the community site. The site is open to all sections of the community to partake in its activities.
We work with organisation such as Coventry Voluntary Group Support Projects and Multifaith Forum.
